Update for Support Legends
Respawn in their latest Reddit AMA, revealed that they will be making some changes to the support legend class and will be adjusting the new powers they’ve received which led to them dominating the season meta
More Support Buffs
Apex Legends hinted that the Season 23 ‘From The Rift’ mid-season update would add some changes for support class across the board, and they will also be adjusting how the current Heal Expert and Revive Expert perks are being played in this meta as a result they have pushed a hotfix update to remove the gold knock down from the loot pool until Respawn has addressed the issue of Lifeline & Newcastle
Mad Maggie Changes
In the latest Apex Legends AMA, Respawn Dev (RV-Devan) hinted that Mad Maggie might be the next legend to get some love from the Devs and that they are looking into giving her some notable changes in the future seasons
Devan states“Overall, the team has been discussing the Maggie Ball / Ultimate and we’d like to make some adjustments to it in the future to give it a more consistent identity.” likely hinting the fact that this might already be done testing in the Developer build as the last update for the Apex Legends Dev build was 24 hours ago.
Even though the community seems to be excited about this change there are also some fans sharing their own ideas on what would make her kit better, Apex fan on twitter by the name@206Lando suggests“Should be like a mini EMP when it blows up instead of fire that will burn harmlessly outside a halo or bubble. Maybe you can detonate it on command?” which quickly gained some engagement and seems like some players agree with this idea, but after all is all in the hands of Respawn Developers
Hinted Buffs for Season 24
In a recent AMA, Apex Legends developers have hinted that more buffs for the Support class will arrive with the mid-Season patch, on January 7 2025. Specifically, Mirage and Loba will seem to be receiving some “impactful” changes. Will Newcastle and Lifeline have competition after January?
Underperforming Legends
Although she was released 7 months ago, Alter is currently the second least-played Legend in Apex Legends, running behind Seer who is flawlessly still sitting at the bottom.
What went wrong? Do the rest of the Skirmishers do what Alter does but better? Is there no practical use for her? Perhaps a faster traveling time for her Tactical and Ultimate abilities are required to make her shine? Let’s see what the developers will do to improve her feedback.
Next Legend Rework
In contrast to recent rumors about a rework for everyone’s favorite murderbot Ash, in a recent AMA Apex Legends developers have expressly stated that “there are no current plans for another rework”, however they then followed on this statement by saying that “if […] a character is not living up to their potential or with a very low pickrate, chances are we’re looking into them”. Given how previously in this article we talked about Alter being in a dire spot, maybe the developers have something coming her way and not all hope is lost.
